I am currently Head of Research in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. I am supervising a number of PhD students and Research Associates, including five projects with industrial partners. I teach, or have recently taught courses in statistical inference, Bayesian statistics and stochastic processes.

I work within computational statistical methods and their application. In particular I have helped develop efficient sequential Monte Carlo methods, methods for detecting changes in time-series, and I am currently working on simulation based inference procedures. Application areas include population genetics, systems biology, epidemics, signal processing and forecasting.
